1. INTRODUCTION

Welcome to AFEW Kenya-Giraffe Centre, web based pre-booking site, here-in described as the site.
In order to serve you better, we have introduced measures to facilitate web-based pre-booking. The measures objectives are as follows:

  • To minimize crowding and observe social distancing and
  • To scale down on any negative environment impact from our nature enterprise activities,
  • To keep at minimal wildlife paucity and eliminate negative impacts,
  • To be in line with responsible tourism practices,
  • To offer you the best experience and value for money.
2. TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE AT THE GIRAFFE CENTRE.

The following guidelines, terms and conditions (T&Cs) shall apply while engaging with us through the web-based pre-booking site. Through access of the website, you confirm your full understanding of the said terms.

2.1 Essential Information:
2.1.1 Management reserves all rights of admission(s).
2.1.2 The guest must always be observation with World Health Organisation and Kenya Ministry of Health guidelines of controlling community spread of the pandemic in public spaces, which include: Social distancing, maintenance of hygiene standards and wearing facial masks at all times.
2.1.3 At all times while visiting Giraffe Centre, you shall be required to observe the animal welfare guidelines outlined by the organisation.
2.1.4 Customers purchasing resident tickets will be required to provide proof of residency through the use of National ID or passport.
2.1.5 The web based pre-booking site can be accessed from mobile devices, smart phones, desktops able to access the internet.
2.1.6 Our responsibility to ensure accessibility to the website at all times, however we advise that service interruption may occur due to outside factors beyond our control.
2.1.7 All personal information collection by virtue of interacting with this site will be managed with confidentiality, and is used for internal purposes only for example emails associated with finalizing your order .
2.1.8 The site reserves the right, to change, modify, add, or remove portions of both the Terms and Conditions of Use and the Terms and Conditions of Sale at any time.
2.1.9 If you are unsure of the meaning of any part of these Terms and Conditions or have any questions regarding the Terms and Conditions, do not hesitate to contact us for clarification.
2.1.10 All children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the experience
2.2 Ticket Purchasing
2.2.1 All ticket reservations and sales are without obligation.
2.2.2 Admissions and ticket sales will only be made subject to space availability, this is to offer you the best experience and in line with responsible tourism practices.
2.2.3 The organisation reserves the right to set the limit based on ground capacity at any one time.
2.2.4 Giraffe Centre park operates a web based pre booking ticket system which allows you to book and pay for a specific date and time slot, which is valid for the date and time prescribed.
2.2.5 The ticket rates may change with or without any prior information. The organisation will however try as much as possible to always update you within reasonable time, in advance.
2.2.6 Before confirming reservation and subsequent ticket purchase, always check to confirm that the correct number and type of tickets have been selected.
2.2.7 Users of the ticketing system will need a valid email address, phone number, and an active credit/debit card or M-Pesa account to make payment. The risk of loss or misuse shall pass to the customer if misappropriation is incurred as a result of providing a wrong email address or telephone number.
2.2.8 Change of dates on tickets can be effected 7 days prior to date of visit. This change is only limited to one time. The date amendment can be made by contact the organisations Guest Experience Team prior to your visit. Any additional amendment will incur an administration fee. 2.2.9 Please also note that tickets cannot be transferred to another person other than for whom it was purchased for. If purchasing for a friend or family, please remember to use their correct Particulars. All adults will be required to confirm identity using identity documents.
2.2.10 Tickets can only be purchased by Adults (18yrs and above with valid identification documents).
2.2.11 The e-ticket purchased will then be validated on-site at the designated validation booths during your by following instructions on the booking confirmation e-mail or telephone short message, upon which you will be checked-in for the experience.
2.2.12 You can either print out your e-mail receipt or present your smart phone with a copy of the email receipt open on the screen. Use of the digital receipt on the screen will contribute to saving our forests.
2.2.13 Tickets purchased for specific events are only valid for those events and will only be valid on the dates specified on the ticket. These tickets are non-refundable, non-transferable and subject to the terms specified for the event.
2.3 Applicable law and Arbitration.
2.3.1 These T&C will be interpreted and governed by the laws in force in Kenya.
2.3.2 Any disputes arising from implementation of the Web-based pre-booking ticket system for the organisation will be settled through arbitration, by an arbitrator appointed by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators - Kenya
2.4 Extraneous Conditions
2.4.1 The organisation will endeavour to ensure the Giraffe Centre Park is open at all times. However, we reserve the right at our discretion, with or without notice, without refund or compensation, to close any part or all of the Wildlife Park at any time, or alter our opening times, or restrict the number of people who have access to the park, If extraneous conditions of; adverse weather, special events, safety and security reasons or other risk that may arise, may affect the well being of our guests or wildlife. At the organisations discretion replacement tickets for admissions or experiences will be offered for an alternative date in full compensation for purchases made prior to the closure.
2.4.2 Due to unforeseeable circumstances, we cannot guarantee that all animals and exhibits specified will be available.
2.4.3 Giraffe Centre Park reserves the right to alter the itinerary on any given day due to animal welfare and health issues, but will ensure that if this is the case then the activity will be replaced with another similar task.
Giraffe Centre Sanctuary Code of Conduct
  1. Feed the giraffes’ one pellet at a time on its tongue using your thumb and index finger to hold the pellet.
  2. Do not feed the giraffe on an open hand and do not stretch your palm with pellets on it.
  3. Do not tease the giraffe; feed it when you have pellets in your hands.
  4. Do not approach the giraffes without the pellets, as they tend to head butt.
  5. Do not feed the giraffes on any other thing other than the pellets or foliage provided by the Giraffe Centre Education officers or Guides.
  6. Maintain silence at all times while feeding the giraffes
  7. Discard litter in the appropriate waste disposal bins provided.
  8. Use of drones is prohibited
  9. Collection of nature specimens or firewood is prohibited
  10. The Giraffe Centre is a no smoking zone.
  11. All animals within the sanctuary are wild.
